I'm in a blogging funk...we haven't been up to anything...I'm so tired of the moving stuff that I don't want to blog about it...we've had the flu...and I'm too tired to think of anything inspiring to say.
So I apologize for my 'exciting' post today, but here's my newly discovered handy tip - which I'm sure MANY of you are doing anyway.
We've always had one large dirty clothes basket that we all pitch our dirty clothes in...and I typically wait until it's overflowing to attack it...and then sort & end up with 12 loads of laundry in a day. Well, with the move, I decided to try something new. Each bedroom now has it's own dirty clothes basket & I choose one basket (sometimes 2 if I'm ambitious) each day to attack. It makes laundry so much easier - why on earth did it take me this long to figure it out? Now when I fold clothes, I have less piles...less socks to sort & only one room to put clothes away in for that day.
Genius, I know. How do you do your laundry? What are your secrets? :)

Laundry?? What's that? Oh wait is that the mounting pile of clothes behind my bedroom door. I thought that was the children's fort! Ha no secrets here we pile ours high then take it to the laundry mat :) I will try to make this my new year's resolution :)
I have 3 baskets and do laundry on Thursday, so I don't have any over the weekend to do and then agian on Monday's. I try and do sheets on Wednesday and coats and jackets in between. I can't stand to be, behind so I always do a load, fold and put them away, right away.
I always try and blog about everyday things happening in our lives, just so Dylan can look back and see what he did, even though sometimes it's not so exciting!! I always enjoy reading your blog!
I agree with Ann...your blog is great!
Anyways, I like Ann's idea of doing sheets on a regular day. I don't do that very well.
I do one or two baskets in our tiny laundry room. I've found for me, right now, doing 1-2 loads everyday works best. I might give your new method a try. All of our clothes are mixed together but usually 1 load a day keeps me caught up.
First of all, Ben is in charge of his own laundry. He's intelligent and capable, I will not do laundry for him. And as soon as my children are capable, they will do their own laundry. But for now, every person has their own basket, and when it gets full, the laundry gets done. If I don't fold it right out of the dryer, it may never get folded, so that's what I TRY to do.
Can't wait for your next topic for discussion!!!

Also, I rarely sort darks and lights anymore (unless there is a new pair of jeans or something) and wash everything on cold. Saves time and energy!

This is good stuff Tiff.
I think your new system will work well.
For me, each person has their own basket (Chris and I combined). I do NOT sort darks and lights- I combine them all and wash almost every load on cold.
I just do a little here and a little there, I like only one load at a time - which usually means I do a load almost everyday. Also, as previous seen I do NOT fold my kids clothes and it's lovely!
