Babymoon

Wikipedia says: A babymoon is a period of time that parents spend bonding with a recently-born baby.

More recently the term has come to be used to describe a vacation taken by a couple that is expecting a baby in order to allow the couple to enjoy a final trip together before the many sleepless nights that usually accompany a newborn baby. Babymoons usually take place at a resort that offers appropriate services like prenatal massage.

While ours was not a well-planned babymoon at a resort that offers prenatal massage...Aaron & I took a little babymoon last night.

With the weather moving in, we decided it would be wise to be in Manhattan in case BabyW4 decided to make it's appearance. The kids went home with Nonny & Poppa & then Aaron & I headed to 'the city'. It took us twice as long to get there due to the snowpacked roads & windshield wipers that continued to ice over. We had an early supper at the Olive Garden, grabbed some snacks & water at Hyvee, had dessert at the Orange Leaf & went to our motel. We were disappointed to discover the hotel did NOT have pay-per-view, but luckily American Idol was on, so we watched it.

This morning we had breakfast, grabbed a Starbucks & headed to my doctor appointment. They did a Non-Stress Test & the baby was doing very well. I am still 2cm dilated. Baby evidently doesn't want to leave it's warm environment for the snow! I can't say I blame it!

Our doctor said she wouldn't let us go past 42 weeks (March 9th), but said that we could set up a date to induce next week if we so wished. We typically like to wait until baby decides it is ready...but grandparents will be traveling as of March 4th, so we said we better get the baby here before they leave. She didn't think she'd be able to get a date before the end of the week, but when she called the hospital, there was a cancellation on Monday, so we took the slot.

So...we are praying that baby decides to make an appearance this weekend...but if not, it looks like Monday will be the day!

Birth Days

The kids & I have been looking back at pictures of them when they were born - to kind of prepare them for the arrival of Baby W4. It's hard to believe that we are 1 day away from the due date...and that baby could come anytime! We are all excited & hoping that 'anytime' means soon! Brecken asks daily, "How many more days until baby is here?" I have been doing a countdown until our due date...but maybe I should have tacked on a few days! Leighton asks every time I go to the doctor, "Is today when the baby gets to come out?" All 3 of our kids have been born on Tuesday...so today would be a great day :)

Here are some pics of our babes on their Birth Days!

New Beds!

Daddy got one of the boys' beds finished today & it looks awesome! These have been a long time in the making, due to the move, the holidays, a new baby on the way...just life in general, but they are so worth it! Daddy put a lot of time & love into these & the boys are excited. He just has to assemble the other one & then we can finally get the boys' room set up ;)

We got the plans off of Ana White's Knock Off Wood. She has a ton of neat plans! We originally were going to bunk these like the plan shows, but decided not to.

This girl is the queen of dress up...not sure where she gets her inspiration, but she is definitely creative!

What's your guess?

We are down to 20 days, give or take a few, until BabyW4 arrives! With each baby, Aaron and I make our 'guesstimates' on the baby's birthday, gender, size, etc. It's been kind of fun to see what we are both thinking :)

What is your guess?

Brecken was 5 days late - weighed 8lbs 8oz, was 21 1/4 inches long
Leighton was 6 days early - weighed 7lbs 8oz, was 20 1/4 inches long
Zoe was born ON her due date - weighed 7lbs 8oz, was 20 inches long

Here is a comparison of the ole baby bump, er um mountain, at 36 weeks with each of them (I know...I'm borderline OCD).
