Sitting in her bumbo...although briefly or she becomes a bobble head...

Taking a lot baths because she seems to be an overflowing fountain of spit up...

Enjoying snooze time on the floor when the siblings are in bed...

And a lot of cooing!

Slime

We had a free day with no appointments or commitments, so we decided to make some slime!


Here's how!

Step 1: Pour 4oz (1/2 c) glue into a jar.

Step 2: Fill the empty glue bottle with water (1/2 c) & then add it to the jar.

Step 3: Add food coloring.

Step 4: In a separate bowl, add 1 cup water & 1 tsp borax powder.

Step 5: Slowly stir the glue mixture into the bowl of borax solution.

Step 6: Knead the slime in the bowl until it feels dry.

The more the slime is played with, the firmer & less sticky it will become. Enjoy!


Store your slime in a zip-lock bag in the fridge. Otherwise it will develop mold.

Riding with Poppa

We were visiting Nonny & Poppa's last week & Poppa was getting ready to mow, so the boys were excited to drive the mower around the block. They have so much fun & he gives them free reign!


Zoe thought she wanted to go for a ride, until she got close to the mower.

Big Girl Bed

This weekend, Zoe discovered the toddler bed downstairs - said "My Bed" and laid down on it. She seemed very excited about it, so Aaron & I moved it upstairs into her room & decided to give it a go.

The first try was naptime on Saturday. She went to bed effortlessly & didn't come out once! At bedtime, she came out a couple times - we walked her back in, gave her a hug & she stayed! It's only been two nights, but she is off to a good start!

2 months!

Sophie is 2 months old, as of yesterday! Yikes...where did the last 2 months go!?!?

2 month stats:

11 lbs 1 oz - 57th%
23" - 74th%
Head 38.4cm - 48th%

At 2 months, you are smiling & cooing at us, which we LOVE! Some nights you sleep really well, only getting up once and some nights you like to see mommy every 2 hours. Your favorite thing to do is be held & talked to! We love you lots!

And because I find this fun...I dressed Sophie in the same outfit & bow that I took Zoe's 2 month picture in :)

Eyeballs

Recent conversation.

Brecken: How do your eyeballs stay in? Is there a string that holds them in?
Me: I don't know...that's one of those questions for God.
Brecken: Well, ask Him.
Me: I can ask Him...but I don't know if we'll get an answer.
Brecken: Why?
Me: Because God talks to us a little differently...you don't hear God like you hear other people talk.
Brecken: Well, can't He yell????

Facts of Life?

About a year ago, the boys made a big deal when they saw Aaron & I kiss & said - oooh, you two just got married! We never corrected them...which may have been a mistake. I think they are a little confused about what 'married' is.

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that our cousin & her husband were going to have a baby. They said, oh, did they get married? We said...well yes, you were at the wedding, silly.

Just recently, the boys were watching a Discovery channel video, called Life. It was talking about an octopus laying eggs. I overheard Leighton ask Brecken, "How does an Octopus get married?" Brecken's answer was, "Maybe they hold hands..."

Love...

Leighton LOVES his baby sister. He asks to hold her all the time & is very sweet with her.

My girl :)

Zoe is starting to turn into a 'girly' girl. She loves accessorizing her outfits...shoes & hats are some of her favorite things!


She has finally started allowing me to put her hair in a pony tail too :)

Milking...

Remember about 2 1/2 years ago...we did this?

Mocha, the milk cow, has grown a little!

She had a little bull calf last week & Aaron's dad has been milking her daily & getting 1-1.5 gallons/day. He is super excited! We got to see 'Buck' this weekend and he's a little cutie!

Aaron was so excited - he skimmed the cream off of the top of the milk & made butter. Unfortunately, he forgot to stick it in our cooler when we left, so he didn't get to try it. Maybe next time!

1 month

UPDATE: You are 9lbs 5oz (52%) & 21.5 inches long (64%). Head Circumference is 36.75cm (45%).

1 month old today, baby girl! You are such a sweet little addition to our family. You are a pretty content baby, even when your brothers & sister are in your face.

You like to be swaddled at night. You eat about every 2 hours, like clockwork, but sometimes stretch it out to 3 hours.

You have outgrown most of your newborn clothes & are wearing 0-3 months now. Size newborn diapers are about too tight...we'll be moving up to size 1 as soon as we finish the package!

Your 1 month appointment is tomorrow. We are anxious to see how big you are! We love you Sophie Maxine!!!
